$1250 – I built this piece with the idea of juxtaposing crisp machine made precision edges on worn and battered materials. The sliver aluminum back plate was a trailer door from the long defunct “Eastern Express” trucking company. The white squares were a mid-80’s Ford truck hood. Each of the red shapes were an early 90’s Chevrolet truck hood. The shapes were cut using punch and die tooling from some industrial process, their actual purpose is unknown. This piece is made from two pickup truck hoods (white and red) and the trailer door of a tractor trailer (silver).
